Back Home Appalachian Arts & Music Festival

The second annual FREE Back Home Appalachian Arts & Music Festival will feature entertainment by the Del McCoury Band, David Grisman, The Travelin' McCourys, The SteelDrivers, Billy Strings, The Last Waltz Live, The Grass Is Dead, David Gans, and many others. The festival will also feature West Virginia artisans and crafters. The Back Home Festival is sponsored by Visit Wetzel County. Visit Back Home's website for more information. 

The Boxcar Children Movie

Join us for a showing of The Boxcar Children Movie! We will be showing the movie on the side of our historic caboose, so bring a lawn chair or blanket as we will be sitting on asphalt. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks and we will also have some available for free as well. 

You can take a tour of our big red caboose and then grab a snack and enjoy the movie. We hope to see you there. THIS IS A FREE EVENT.

Mother's Day Luncheon

Join us at the Wetzel County Museum for a FREE Mother's Day Luncheon on Saturday, May 12th! The event begins at 2:00pm and the menu is as follows: cucumber sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, pasta salad, and a veggie platter. Mini strawberry shortcakes and shortbread cookies will be served for dessert. Cold tea and lemonade will also be served. 

A short presentation on the history of Mother's Day in the U.S. will also be given at the event.

Amazing Raise Giving Day

The Wetzel County Museum is excited to participate in 2018's Amazing Raise Ohio Valley Giving Day! The event takes place all day on May 1st and participating is easy! If you'd like to donate to the museum you can go to Giveov.org/npo/wetzel-county-museum-1 or simply go to Giveov.org and search for "Wetzel County Museum". Any donation is more than appreciated.

Last year over 1,600 donors in the Ohio Valley raised $415,630 for the 111 participating nonprofit organizations. Local businesses and individuals contributed over $50,000 to a matching pool that aided in awarding hourly prizes and boosted the money raised for every nonprofit.

This event is sponsored by the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, which has served the area for 45 years as a resource for local philanthropy, connecting individuals, families, and businesses with causes they care about.  

Grow Your Own Pizza

Come down to the Wetzel County Museum for an interactive program on making your own garden to grow a pizza - free pizza will also be provided to all guests! 

Wetzel County High School Art Show

The second annual Wetzel County High School Art Show will take place at the Wetzel County Museum on Saturday April 14th from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Come enjoy some amazing art and meet the artists! 

Yoga at the Museum

FREE yoga at the museum! Don't worry if you don't have a mat as we'll have extras. This is a class for everyone so if you're a beginner to yoga you are more than welcome. We have a 7:00PM class and a class at 8:00PM please RSVP via our Facebook page regarding which class you plan to attend.
